Teacher Monica Young, accused of the sexual assault of a young male student, must live at her grandparents’ home as part of her bail conditions.

Sydney school teacher Monica Young, accused of sexually assaulting a teenage male student, has enjoyed her first weekend of freedom on bail.

In tracksuit pants and a hoodie, Young reported to Bankstown Police Station on Sunday with a male relative, following her release from Silverwater Correctional Complex on Friday night.
Young is banned from having contact with her alleged victim, a 14 year old boy police allege she sexually assaulted on five occasions including in her car.

She also allegedly sent a Snapchat messages to the boy of her in bed with the words “I’m waiting for you.’’

It is also alleged the pair exchanged explicit photos of social media and on one occasion Ms Young is seen on CCTV appearing to try and touch the boy’s groin.

But her lawyers say the CCTV does not show any sexual assault.
Police allege the offences occurred between June 24 and July 6.

She is also banned from using social media and must reside at her grandparents home in Western Sydney.

The teacher, who was engaged at the time of her arrest on July 10 was charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault and is expected to plead not guilty.

During her bail hearing in the NSW Supreme Court on Thursday, Crown prosecutor Scott Jaeger said Ms Young’s alleged actions were a “massive breach of trust” and more charges are expected to be laid.

Police will allege Young visited the teenage boy where he worked and pursued his attention. The Department of Education terminated her position as a teacher soon after her arrest.
Her matter is due to return to court on September 2.
