The smash repair boss who last week pledged a massive $1 million cash to secure bail for one of the men accused of shooting dead bikie chief Mick Hawi is in trouble himself.

Bradd Robert Ring, 46, was allegedly pulled over by police at 1am on Sunday in an unregistered truck with drugs and weapons inside.

Last week panel beater Jamal Eljaidi, 32, was grinning in the NSW Supreme Court when he was granted bail after being charged with the murder of the former head of the Comanchero bikie gang who was shot dead outside Fitness First in Rockdale last year. Eljaidi is alleged to have been the getaway driver.

The court was told that Ring had agreed to deposit $1 million and forfeit the sum if Eljaidi breached bail.

But Eljaidi’s upcoming freedom is now in jeopardy after his benefactor was pulled over in Plimsoll Street, Belmore on Sunday morning allegedly driving a white Hino truck not displaying registration plates.

During a search of the vehicle by officers from Campsie Proactive Crime Team, it is alleged a knife, an expandable baton and 3.8g of methamphetamine, or ice, were found in the vehicle.

Ring, of Kogarah, allegedly did not have a Class C licence to drive the truck and it was not insured.

He appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday morning charged with using an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, having custody of knife in public place, possess prohibited drug, being an unlicensed driver, possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit, using a heavy vehicle which “contravenes standard” and drive or tow a vehicle with an unsecured load.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday, October 10.

Eljaidi remains in Silverwater Jail with the bail conditions not being met and detectives are now expected to ask the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to return to court to argue Ring is no longer an acceptable person under the law to post bail because of the fresh charges.

The court was told last week that police will allege Hawi was killed because of a financial dispute involving $250,000 to $300,000 he wanted to be paid for “some services rendered to the other persons”.

Company records show that Ring ran the family businesses of Ring Auto Resprays and Rings Smash Repairs which no longer are in business.

Eljaidi is also due to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Thursday, October 10, after he pleaded not guilty to possessing 7g of Stanozolol, a synthetic steroid akin to testosterone, the Supreme Court was told last week.
