Man shot in chest and another in shin in chaotic night in Sydney’s west

Two men have been shot in separate incidents in nearby Western Sydney suburbs overnight.
The first attack occurred about 11.15pm on Tuesday when a man was shot after opening the door to his unit on Park Rd at Cabramatta.
When paramedics arrived they found the man in his 40s suffering a gun wound to the chest.
He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition and an investigation is now underway by detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command.
That shooting was followed by another early on Wednesday morning in nearby Liverpool.
Police were called to Charles St just before 6.20am where they found man in his 20s lying on the roadside suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was treated at the scene before also being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Neither of the injuries suffered by the men are believed to be life threatening and the shootings are not thought to be linked.
