Which Lismore Christmas Tree do you prefer?

WITH Lismore now holding not one, but two unique Christmas Trees in the CBD, we thought it was time to ask: Which tree do locals prefer?

NOW that Lismore City Council has unveiled the new recycled bicycle Christmas Tree in Lismore's CBD yesterday, and redecorated the town's longstanding "wonky" tree today, we thought it was time to ask: Which tree do locals prefer?

We asked our online readers which tree they liked best: The new thrifty, solar-paneled bike tree on the corner of Magellan and Keen Streets, or the Lismore's famed "wonky" tree up the block on the corner of Keen and Woodlark Streets.

Many commenters on The Northern Star's Facebook page said they had a soft spot for Lismore's long-standing "wonky" Christmas Tree.

"Love the bent tree! Atleast its a real tree, and been the Lismore Christmas tree for so many years," Carley Hill said.

"Wonky tree. Love seeing it decorated every year when I come home for xmas," Kylie van den Berg said.

"I love our wonky tree, its very Lismore loving it for all its special inclusions," Lynne Reynolds said.

"In a year bike tree will rust at the welds, tyres will perish... ongoing cost and work," Tony Cullen said.

However, some took the debate in a different direction, with Cherrie Lovejoy stating:

"It wouldn't have been wonky if they didn't load it with decorations when it was growing.."

To which Mel Connell replied:

"Are you serious... Haha that's not why it's wonky... It apparently was struck by lightning... Lol."

However Rosmarine Ladrome said she was a fan of the new cycle tree, while Sally Sullivan and Mel Connell said they loved both of Lismore's trees.
