The case of a man who stabbed another man to cause serious injury has been delayed due to an administrative setback.

Thomas Vincent Watkin appeared via video link on Friday, June 25 in Lismore District Court.

He had previously pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The charges involved the stabbing of 56-year-old Anthony Norman in July 2019.

Mr Norman had been found between 10.20pm and 11.50pm on July 14 with multiple stab wounds to his head, chest, and abdomen in a unit on Kingscliff Street, Kingscliff.

While Watkin was due to be sentenced on April 16, the court heard the matter had been delayed due to psychiatric reports not being delivered on time.

While they were meant to be available in April, the Crown prosecutor said the report had only been delivered late on Thursday afternoon.

Due to that, he was asking for a five-week adjournment for further mention, which Judge Jeffrey McLennan granted.

Watkin will be mentioned again on August 13 in Lismore District Court.
