YOUR backyard could receive a makeover valued at $2000 thanks to a competition run by Lismore City Council and Rous Water.
For a chance to win, entrants must redesign their backyard using the Big Scrub rainforest plants and water quality landscaping techniques.
"We're encouraging people to create gardens that use techniques to improve water quality," Rous Water's Anthony Acret said.
"The water that enters our suburban backyards ends up in our creeks and eventually the Wilsons River."
The winner will have a Rous Water bush regeneration team visit their home for one day to help with the backyard transformation.
Entries to the Landscaping for Water Quality Design Competition close on September 11.
