Two-year-old girl from Whian Whian dies in tragic backyard drowning

A child has tragically lost her life after being found unresponsive in a backyard pool in the states north on Wednesday,
A multi-agency rescue detachment along with NSW ambulance and Richmond police were observed racing to the scene from Lismore, Dunoon, and Federal on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews arrived at a property at Whian Whian about 2.20pm yesterday, 25km north of Lismore.
Family members were located and were attempting to revive a two-year-old girl with CPR.
Police arrived on scene and rendered assistance until NSW Ambulance paramedics took over.
The girl was raced to Lismore Base Hospital but could not be saved.
Five people across the state have now drowned since Christmas Day.
Officers attached to Richmond Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
