DORROBBEE Grass Reserve Trust president Jally Hawthorn believes our stories are embedded into the landscape and by preserving our land we maintain our stories.

To this affect Lismore City Council has unveiled a new Community Pride Trailer to aid local community groups in their beautification projects.

It is available for all beautification projects and Dorrobbee Grass Reserve Trust will be using it on the 7th August for a working bee.

"It is really very exciting because you just never know who is going to turn up at a working bee and how much equipment you will need," Jally said.

"It also means that volunteers don't need to bring their own equipment because people sometimes don't like to expose their own stuff to the harsh environment out there."

The trailer includes a mower, brush cutter, blower and wheelbarrow as well as a fuel drum, handsaw, toolbox, shovels, broom, rake and WHS equipment.

Council's Community Services coordinator Casie Hughes said the trailer made it easy and accessible for community groups to get together and undertake gardening or beautification projects.

"The harsh reality is that Council cannot do everything with the funds we have, so we are trying to help community groups take ownership of places, spaces and assets within their communities," she said.

"People may wish to borrow the trailer to start an ongoing maintenance project or hold a one-off working bee to get a new community garden or some village planter boxes up and running.

"The sky's the limit in terms of ideas and imagination."

To book the Community Pride Trailer phone Lismore City Council on 1300 87 83 87.

Interested people will need to have a licence and registration details to hand.
