Stolen car causes significant damage after crashing into a house

A stolen ute was found crashed into a house on the North Coast causing significant damage. And the neighbours didn’t hear a thing.

Mystery surrounds how a stolen car ended up crashed into a house in Terranora over the weekend.

About 11am on Friday, April 30, police were advised that a Holden Utility bearing NSW plates ‘TAYLEX’ was stolen from Terranora.

The next day, police were called to an address in Parkes Lane, Terranora and found the

reported vehicle had collided with a home causing significant damage to the home and the vehicle.

Engineers were required to render the home safe before the vehicle was towed from the location.

It is believed that the vehicle crashed into the home some time between 11am on Friday and 12pm on Saturday.

Police canvassed neighbours, but no one heard anything.

Investigations are ongoing including forensic examination of the vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Tweed Heads Police or Crime Stoppers.

The vehicle was removed from the home in Parkes Lane about 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon after engineers deemed the site safe.
