Star-studded set of business and community leaders set to contest next election

A star-studded list of business and community leaders have put their hands up to contest the next Lismore Council elections in September.

La Baracca and Ristretto owner Steve Krieg, who made headlines in the aftermath of the 2017 floods when he gave then PM Malcolm Turnbull a few stern words of advice on a visit to the devastated city, has thrown has hat into the ring to become the next mayor.

Mr Krieg said his team would provide a positive alternative to get the town back on track.

“It is clear that our current council is not working, which is why we need change – and we are the change,” he said.

He has come out in support of projects like the Dunoon Dam, Lismore Square redevelopment and flood mitigation, works.
