Baseball teams are hoping the rain holds off for 2021 Australian Senior League Championship gold medal game in Lismore on May 12.

If rain washes out the gold medal baseball game at Lismore’s Albert Park today, it may result in an unprecedented tie for the 2021 Australian Senior League Championships.
Baseball Australia’s editor in chief, David Penrose, said rain was expected in the region throughout Wednesday and could force changes to game times.
Penrose said if heavy rains forced the match to be cancelled, it could see both teams share the title.
He said there was some dazzling baseball to be watched as teams from across the country battle it out for honour and glory.
After a cracker game on Tuesday night which involved extra innings, Southern Mariners will face Macarthur in the 2021 Australian Senior League Championship gold medal game after topping Eastern Athletics.
The Mariners scored five runs in the top of the eighth and Lachlan Smith closed the door to lift them to a 6-1 win on diamond one in the second semi-final.
They will now face Macarthur in Wednesday’s championship game scheduled for 1.30pm.
That’s if the weather gods Co-operate.
Meanwhile, Cronulla will take on Eastern Athletics in the bronze medal game, which is currently set for 10.30am.
Macarthur punched its ticket to the gold medal game with a come from behind 6-3 win over Cronulla in an all-New South Wales semi-final on Tuesday.
Southern Mariners advanced following a 6-1 extra-inning win against the Eastern Athletics.
Wanneroo Giants and Brisbane Metro will battle for seventh at 8.30am on diamond two.
Swan Hills Aces will face Adelaide Armada on diamond two from 11am in the fifth-place playoff.
