When it comes to grassroots Aussie rules, you can’t go past that the dew kickers.

This week the Northern Star’s youngest sports reporter, Fynn Henderson, 12, looks at the great skills and good sportsmanship displayed during the Round 4 U10s game between the Lismore Swans and the Byron Bay Magpies at Cavanbah Oval on Snday May 9 at 9am.

“The Swans played a great game today,” Fynn said.

“But in the end Byron were just too good.”

Fynn said during the first half, action from the Swans was slow with them only kicking one goal.

“They picked up in the second half, kicking three goals and four points,” he said.

“But this was not enough to catch the energetic Magpies.

“The four goal kickers for the Swans were, Tom Watson, Archer Henderson who kicked a goal through a pack, Levi Wood and Tom Henschke.”

Fynn said the Lismore Swans encouragement awards went to Archie Twyford and Alex Crane who were first to the ball for Swans all game.
