Levi Shouldice leads the charts as the top wicket taker on the North Coast with 22 wickets for Byron Bay Cricket Club.
He has dismissed batsmen with his right-arm fast bowling which sees Byron on top of the Coast League Ladder with just one more regular season match before the finals.
Followers of the Coastal League are used to seeing Shouldice on top of the charts having taken 35 wickets in 17 matches in 2018/19 and 28 wickets in 12 matches in 2019/20.
His finest performance so far was a six-wicket haul against Lennox Head in January with an economy of 3.12 after 15 rounds.
In the LJ Hooker League Kale Hare from Goonellabah Workers is top of the list with 20 wickets from nine matches and is followed closely by Cudgen Cricket Club’s James Julius who has taken 19 wickets.
Hare’s favourite opponent is Murwillumbah where he’s taken eight wickets for 18 runs in two matches including a five-wicket haul in November.
Julius works hard for his wickets maintaining two or three a match throughout the season. He is a useful member of the bowling attack that does his work quietly to knock over his opponents.
Steven Leahy has taken a wicket in every single LJ Hooker League match he has played for Tintenbar-East Ballina with a total of 17 wickets.
He has also provided a few solid batting performances including 40 against Tweed-Banora Colts.
The LJ Hooker League and Coastal Leagues may be impacted by floods and matches are expected to be postponed as a result of the events of the last week.
