A Lismore Swans U11 player showed a flash of brilliance when he kicked a goal through the legs of an opposing player when they took on the Burleigh Bombers White on the weekend.

The Lismore Swans Junior Aussie Rules Football Club reporter, Fynn Henderson, said Jerome Daley, who usually plays in the U10 squad, scored a goal after out manoeuvring his opposing player to kick the goal between the other player’s legs.

But Fynn said despite some terrific playing on Sunday, June 6, at Mortimer Oval in Lismore, the home side was defeated.

“The Swans lost on Sunday morning to Burleigh White 5.6.36 to 14.6.90,” he said.

“It was not the Swan’s best game, but despite the score line they still played hard

and kept trying even when an early game injury slightly put them off.”

Fynn said the visitors dominated the first three quarters.

“But in the last quarter the Swans fought back to kick three,” he said.

“Burleigh kick one, but in the end (the Swans effort) was just not enough.”

Fynn said the team still played a great game of footy.

“Some of the best players were Sol Patroni-Oort who went all in the whole game,” he said.

“As always Sydney-Jack Baker and Harvey Power were everywhere all game.

“The award winners were Bradlee Commins for playing awesomely and Jerome Daley

(who is only an under 10), who kicked a goal through a Burleigh player’s legs.”

When interviewed post match Jerome proudly said, “I kicked a nutty goal.”

Fynn said while the team felt it was a disappointing game, the Swans were rewarded with an icy-pole for their efforts.
