IT'S been 15 years since soccer's Foster boys, Craig, Paul and Stephen, played together, but today they will turn out for Goonellabah against Lismore Workers in the annual Corey New Cup.
Craig Foster has forsaken calling the A-League grand final for SBS Radio to play in the game, which honours Corey New, one of four Kadina High School students killed in a car crash in 2006.
“My commitment is firm, I wouldn't miss this game because it is a really important weekend,” Foster said.
“That's what football is built on, team ethic and respecting team-mates.”
The former Socceroo will be joined by his brothers for the first time in more than a decade.
“I can't wait,” Foster said. “Both of them are great players and it will be a great pleasure, both from a family and a sporting perspective.
“I'm 40 this year so I'm conscious that I don't have that many games in my knees and I'm going to try to enjoy them.”
The third edition of the Corey New Cup will be held from 5pm at Weston Park, Goonellabah.
As curtain-raisers, there will be an Under-16 girls game at 1pm followed by a men's reserve grade game at 3pm.
