Slimy science lessons at the Lismore Library

Slime, bubbles and science entertained dozens of kids at Lismore and Goonellabah libraries during the school holidays.

ROBOTICS, slime and liquid nitrogen - all of the components for a perfect kids' day out in Lismore.

Ben Newsome from Fizzics Education demonstrated science workshops to children at the libraries at Lismore and Goonellabah.

"The program is a way to introduce science in a fun and hands-on way," he said.

The workshops saw children learn about physics and chemistry, whilst absorbed in the process of making bubbles, slime and making ice cream from liquid nitrogen.

Young participants, cousins Cohen, 7, and Taj, 5, of Lismore gave a quick demonstration of their bubble-making skills before they were off to join the queue to make sherbet.

Dozens of other children joined them in making slime from water and cornflour.

The parting advice from Mr Newsome when asked if they could take their slime home?
