The more people who get their COVID-19 inoculation the better of the community will be.
This is the message from Northern NSW Local Health District chief executive Wayne Jones at the opening of the new COVID-19 clinic at Lismore Square on Monday.
Amid confusion on which jab to get, this journalist decided to follow the advice Mr Jones gave yesterday.
And it took less than 60 seconds.
On Tuesday morning I rang 1800 438 829 (1800 GETVAX) and spoke with a pleasant woman who asked me a number of questions, including was I over 50 years old and had I received any inoculations of any kind in the weeks prior.
Yes and no were my replies.
“You can come in tomorrow” she said.
“What time would you like?”
So I’m now ready to roll up my sleeve.
It was that easy.
On Monday Mr Jones said the clinic will be open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4pm.
“Bookings are essential,” he said.
”You can book by calling 1800 438 829 (1800 GETVAX)”.
Mr Jones said the clinic was an added measure to support the vaccination rollout currently underway for those who cannot access the vaccine through their usual general practitioner (GP).
