BALLINA rugby league juniors James and Tyrone Roberts will finally get the chance to play alongside each other in the annual NRL Indigenous All Stars clash in Brisbane this weekend.
They were supposed to reunite this season at the Gold Coast Titans before James Roberts asked for a release and eventually signed with Brisbane.
James is now at his fourth NRL club after stints with South Sydney, Penrith and the Titans, and has been tipped for big things now at the Broncos.
Tyrone has been far more settled during his five years in the NRL, playing 97 games at Newcastle before signing with the Gold Coast.
A change of scenery could bring out the best in the 24-year-old after a disappointing 2015 where the Knights finished with the wooden spoon.
He was one of the standouts in a Titans team that made the semi-finals of the Auckland Nines at the weekend.
The Titans were littered with Northern Rivers products including Anthony Don, David Mead, Brian Kelly and Shannon Walker.
Walker is trialling with the Titans and signed to the Tweed Seagulls.
Kelly has another year left in the National Youth Competition while Don and Mead will take wing spots in the top grade.
Mullumbimby juniors Dane Chisholm and Cody Nelson also played a part in the Auckland Nines.
Nelson, a former Titan, scored a try in the final for the Parramatta Eels against the New Zealand Warriors while Dane Chisholm played for the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Casino junior Cody Walker played for South Sydney and is likely to get a chance in the halves at the Rabbitohs this season.
The Indigenous All Stars will take on the NRL All Starts at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday night.
The National Rugby League premiership season is set down to start in the first week of March.
