A Goonellabah man has been charged with stealing white goods from a flood-affected business.

Richmond Police officers began investigations after reports some 50 refrigerators had been stolen from a business on Snow Street, South Lismore, in the wake of the March floods.

Today (August 22), officers executed a search warrant on a Goonellabah home.

During the search police seized one refrigerator, three pressure washers, one Wacker Packer, and alleged illicit drugs.

A 38-year-old Goonellabah man was arrested and charged with larceny at a value of over $15,000, disposing of stolen property, two counts of goods on premises suspected to be stolen, and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail and appeared in Lismore Local Court on Monday.
