A North Coast realtor has pleaded guilty to sending indecent material however denies allegations of child abuse and procuring a child for sex, a court heard.

Jacob Glenn Ford, 29, appeared before Judge Jonathan Priestley in Lismore District Court on Wednesday.

Ford pleaded not guilty to three counts of intentionally sexually touching a child between 10 and 16 years of age and using a carriage service to procure a child under 16 years of age for sexual activity.

He pleaded guilty to the backup charge of using a carriage service (Instagram) to send indecent material to a child under 16 years of age.

Charges of using a carriage service to groom a child, grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity, and disseminating child abuse material have been withdrawn.

It is alleged that between November 2023 and January 2024 Ford used a carriage service to message a child under 16 years of age.

Police will also allege Ford did intentionally sexually touch the same child.

Police further allege Ford repeatedly sexually touched the child on a number of occasions over that time period.

Ford is alleged to have used a carriage service to communicate with a child under 16 years old with the intention of procuring that child to engage in sexual activity.

The Judge upheld Ford’s strict conditional bail conditions including that he must report once a week to police and not make contact with any prosecution witness or alleged victims.

The case is due for call-over at the Downing Centre Central District Court on May 26.

Further hearing dates are yet to be set however Ford’s trial date is scheduled to begin in Lismore District Court on November 10.
