Rayne William Alyward faces Lismore court on murder charge

A fresh court date has been set for a young North Coast man accused of fatally stabbing a teen in the neck.

A man charged with fatally stabbing a Casino boy in his own home has faced a Lismore court.

Rayne William Alyward, 18, was mentioned on a charge of murder at Lismore Local Court, on Wednesday September 28.

Police will allege Alyward stabbed a 17-year-old youth to death in his home in a targeted attack, while his parents were also at home.

Emergency services were called to a home on McDougall Street, Casino, on June 25, after reports the 17-year-old had been stabbed multiple times in the neck.

He died at the scene.

Detectives went to another Casino home the following day and arrested Alyward before charging him with murder.

Aylward was refused bail and remains remanded in custody.

The matter was adjourned to October 26.
