WITH the news that Lismore's ark sculpture was getting a fresh lick of paint to the concrete base, our readers have had their say on which colour should be splashed on.

We asked our readers on our Facebook page what colour they thought the concrete structure should be painted.

Ally Rice-Finlayson suggested blues/greens to continue the water theme, while Jason Caban said "rainbow colours", and Maralyn Mary Middle put forward "cerulean blue".

Greg Sun suggested Pink, Jocelyn LovesSparkles liked dark blue, Yvonne Lowe said Brown.

"Green - and do something about the cargo that awful blue box. Paint the boxes brown and throw some fishnets or similar over the things," Anthony Clarke said.

"Cover it up with greenery plants extra," Debbie Newlands said.

"Water feature the whole thing," Rob Hayes said.

Others took a different approach to the question:

"Camouflage," Lucy Diamond said.

"Black, to match the rest of the CBD," Brian Mullens said.

"A thick coat of invisible," Carlo Pisanu said.

"The colour DEMOLISH...with EXTRA polish!" Shanti Love said.

"Somewhere between glass and gone," Debbie Ingrid Kalnins said.

However some commenters stood up for the sculpture:

"Nooo don't paint it. Change the shape of the box in the middle to a large sail like structure," Shay Collyer said.

"And get a local artist to do it...yay!" added Susannah French.

"Just keep it in the natural colour it is. Unfortunately it will not change the opinion of most of the locals," Michael Kaylene Knock said.

"Well I guess Noah put up with heaps of people telling him he was wasting his time and stuff too and he kept going thank heavens," Rhonda Elizabeth Pogson said.

"Having moved up here from Sydney I just want to say how much I love the quirkiness of Lismore its unique you all should be proud of your town. I love it potholes and all its so much better then where I came," Narelle Campbell said.
