Two teens refused bail at Lismore Children’s Court after threatening takeaway staff with machete and crowbar during armed robbery
Police have accused two boys, 16, of threatening staff at a North Coast shop with weapons before making off with cash in a stolen car. It comes after a raft of similar alleged youth crimes.

Police have accused two 16-year-old boys of threatening staff at a North Coast takeaway shop with a machete and crowbar before making off with cash in a stolen car.
The latest alleged incident of youth crime at Coraki. about 25km south of Lismore, comes as police probe a separate Casino KFC youth hammer bashing, among a spate of other break-ins, car thefts and assaults across the region.
Richmond Police were called to a home on Queen Elizabeth Dr about 2.45pm after an SUV was reported stolen on Monday.
Soon after, officers were called to an armed robbery at the shop on the same street.
Police arrived and were told “young people allegedly threatened staff with a machete and crowbar before stealing cash and leaving in the stolen vehicle”.
A crime scene was set up and officers began investigations. Police state inquiries led officers to the SUV dumped in bushland at Coraki and the boys were arrested a short time after.
They were both taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with armed robbery and being carried in a car taken without consent of the owner.
The boys, who cannot legally be identified due to their young age, have were refused bail to face the Children’s Court at Lismore on Tuesday.
They were again refused bail to face the court on Friday.
