A 16-year-old boy has died in a motorbike crash in Mallanganee in Northern NSW

Police will prepare a report for the coroner after a 16-year-old was found deceased at the scene of the crash.

Police have reported that a teenager has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash west of Casino on Sunday.

Police said shortly before 9am on Sunday, a Kawasaki motorcycle was found crashed by a member of the public on Sandilands Street in Mallanganee, about 40km west of Casino.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended and found the rider, a 16-year-old boy, deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

The crash is believed to have occurred in the early hours of the morning.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
