South Lismore man Jeffrey Desmond Swarzes to consider plea offer
The court heard the 41-year-old will consider a plea offer over the alleged frightening events which took place in August 2020.

A South Lismore man charged with assault and kidnapping will consider a plea offer, a court has heard.
Jeffrey Desmond Swarzes, 41, had his matters heard in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, August 11.
He stands charged with a number of offences including reckless grievous bodily harm, kidnap in company with intent to commit actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others, demanding property with intent to steal, possess prohibited drug and escaping police custody.
An additional charge of taking in company with intent to occasion actual bodily harm was to be withdrawn.
According to police facts, the charges relate to a South Lismore man, who Mr Swarzes allegedly detained and assaulted with another co-accused between August 14-15 last year.
He is yet to enter any formal pleas.
On Wednesday, the court heard the DPP ask for an extension to the case’s timetable.
The prosecutor explained a plea offer had been made to Mr Swarzes and a counter offer made on July 29.
The offer was currently under consideration with defence requiring more time to consult with Mr Swarzes.
Magistrate Michael Dakin adjourned the matter before Lismore Local Court for a committal mention on September 15.
