An alleged armed robber has faced a North Coast court charged with holding up a chemist at knifepoint for prescription medication.
Richmond police allege Sean David Bowden, 41, entered the Soul Pattinson Chemist shop on Summerland Way at Kyogle shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday.
It’s alleged Bowen “spoke with staff before allegedly producing a knife and threatening an employee, demanding prescription medication”.
“The armed man fled from the store with medication and police were notified,” a statement read.
Police launched an investigation into the robbery, which did not leave anyone physically injured.
Emergency services were then called to Kyogle Rd, Lillian Rock about 7pm and Bowden was arrested.
He was taken to Lismore Base Hospital, under police guard.
Bowden was discharged on Wednesday and escorted to Lismore Police Station.
He has been charged with committing a robbery armed with offensive weapon.
Bowden was refused bail to face Lismore Local Court on Thursday.
His case has been adjourned to June 12.
