A Northern Rivers man has fronted court after allegedly stabbing a woman in the shoulder, leaving her seriously injured.
Dunoon man Jeremy James Massie appeared in Lismore Local Court on Monday charged with reckless wounding, wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, taking a car without consent of the owner and driving while disqualified.
An application for an apprehended violence order was also lodged on behalf of the injured woman.
Police will allege they arrested Mr Massie on the afternoon of Friday, June 4, following reports of a residential stabbing at dawn that day.
Ambulance NSW confirmed paramedics treated the women for shoulder wounds until she stabilised.
However, the woman required further assistance and Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter transported her to the Gold Hospital.
During his Monday appearance, Mr Massie had his bail refused and Magistrate Jeff Linden accepted the AVO order.
The order prohibits Mr Massie from possessing any firearms or prohibited weapons or going within 500m of the woman.
The AVO was adjourned for further mention on August 11 at Lismore Local Court.
The five other charges will also proceed to a brief committal status mention at Lismore Local Court on the August 11 date.
