North Lismore man, 53, to face court charged with running over two men
Police say an altercation unfolded between the alleged victims, both younger men, before they were struck by the motorist.

A North Lismore man is due to face court on Wednesday after he allegedly ran over two other men.
Police said in a statement a 20-year-old man was using a payphone on Diadem Street in Lismore about 6.15pm last Thursday when he was approached by a 35-year-old man who was known to him.
“Police have been told an argument ensued before the younger man began running down the street, chased by the other man,” police said.
“A 53-year-old man – who is known to both men – then drove past the pair, conducted a U-turn and allegedly drove directly at them, knocking them to the ground.”
The two younger men were treated at the scene, then taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
The 53-year-old, from North Lismore, was arrested at the scene and was also taken to hospital.
There, he was held under police guard while treated for unrelated injuries.
He was released from hospital on Friday before being taken to Lismore Police Station.
There, he was charged with two counts of driving furiously in motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and one count of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to face Lismore Local Court today.
