Man accused of three-man Goonellabah stabbing faces eight fresh charges

The 30-year-old faced eight fresh charges, including common assault and intimidating a police officer in the execution of duty.

The man accused of stabbing three men in a violent attack in Goonellabah has faced court with eight new charges.

Joshua Eric Bolt fronted Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, where police had laid an additional eight charges against the 30-year-old.

These were on top of six charges laid following his Friday arrest.

They included two counts of DV-related common assault, one of common assault, DV-related stalking/intimidation, resisting an officer in the execution of duty, intimidating a police officer in the execution of duty, possessing a prohibited drug and a failure to appear in accordance with bail agreements.

Police will allege about 2.30pm on Friday, June 11, officers from Richmond Police District were called to Campbell Crescent after reports three men had suffered stab wounds to their backs.

The men, aged 20, 32 and 45 were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital.

Mr Bolt was later arrested and charged with three counts of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, three counts of reckless wounding and two outstanding warrants.

On Wednesday, Mr Bolt’s solicitor Rod Behan also made an application for an interim forensic procedure order.

It was heard photos of the accused’s hands were taken at the time of arrest but couldn’t be further used until the interim order was confirmed.

Magistrate Jeff Linden approved the order on the basis the procedure could take place in the next 21 days while Mr Bolt was in custody.

The first six charges, including the three counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and three counts of reckless wounding will appear before Lismore Local Court for a brief status mention on August 11.

The other 10 charges will proceed before the Lismore Local Court on June 24.

He is yet to enter any formal pleas.
