Lismore man Aaron Pocklington, 20, fighting affray, weapon charges after stabbing death of Lachlan Andrews at Casino KFC

A young man will contest charges over his alleged involvement in a wild KFC brawl, which resulted in a 17-year-old boy being stabbed to death. It comes as a child has been charged with murder.

A young North Coast man will fight charges over his alleged involvement in a wild brawl at a KFC which resulted in a 17-year-old boy being stabbed to death.

On Monday, East Lismore’s Aaron John Pocklington, 20, pleaded not guilty at Lismore District Court to affray and using an offensive weapon in company with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The prosecution alleges Pocklington targeted deceased Canberra teen Lachlan Andrews.

Pocklington will remain on bail ahead of an upcoming trial date.

It’s alleged Lachlan 17, suffered the fatal stab wounds when an arranged meeting with another teen escalated into a brawl on May 29 last year.

A 17-year-old – who cannot legally be identified – has been charged with murder, reckless wounding and affray.

The boy is behind bars on remand while his case is progressing in Children’s Court.

NSW law prohibits any details of a child’s matter being published, so the accused murderer will likely never be named.

Emergency services were called to the busy fast food restaurant on Centre St in Casino after reports of a brawl, police state.

Richmond Police District officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics came across multiple teens suffering stab wounds.

Police allege Lachlan was stabbed multiple times and died at the scene in the incident involved about 20 people.

Children as young as 12 turned up to watch the brawl and witnessed the horrific death, according to police.

Lachlan was working on flood-impacted properties when he was tragically killed.

The victim’s mother Linda Pridham previously revealed she learned about her son’s death via smartphone app Snapchat.

“There were videos of it and kids put it all over social media,” she said.

In a tragic twist, Ms Pridham received a photo from Casino mother Julie Gronow showing her son Ned and a few of his friends watching the service online.

Less than three weeks later, Ned, 17, was stabbed to death while he slept in bed.

“Lachie and Ned were friends when Lachie moved up there (to Casino) … it’s just so chilling that happened to him just a few weeks after Lachie died,” Ms Pridham said.

Rayne Aylward, 18, faced court, charged with the alleged murder of Ned.

Ulmarra man Kye Douglas Aylward, Rayne Aylward’s father, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and concealing a serious indictable offence.

Police allege the father knew his son murdered Ned and harboured him between June 25 and June 27, 2022.

Tanner Park, a friend of the murder accused, has been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence – the alleged murder.

Police have stated the alleged murders of Lachlan and Ned are unrelated.
