A Kyogle teen has been let off with a caution for driving with more than the allowed number of passengers.
Tobias Boyle-Harris, 18, appeared in Casino Local Court unrepresented on Thursday, July 22.
The P-plater was charged with being under the age of 25 and driving at night with more than one passenger aged under 21.
He pleaded guilty to the charge.
According to NSW legislation, P1 drivers under 25 are not permitted to drive with more than one passenger under 21 between the hours of 11pm and 5am.
The maximum penalty for such a crime is the loss of three demerit points and a fine.
However, Magistrate Kathy Crittenden took an alternative approach at the Thursday sentencing.
She found Boyle-Harris guilty, but without proceeding to conviction, he was sentenced to a Conditional Release Order for a period of nine months to commence, which will expire on April 21, 2022.
The Conditional Release Order was subject to additional conditions including that Boyle-Harris was supervised by Casino Community Corrections District Office and attend and complete a Driver Education program.
