Investigations under way: Ballina woman’s terrifying break-in while she slept
As soon as a Northern Rivers woman realised her home had been broken into while she was asleep, she contacted police, who sent crime scene officers to investigate.

A Northern Rivers woman has suffered an horrific shock after she woke to find her home had been broken into overnight.
On Monday, May 31, Richmond Police District Chief Inspector Susie Johnson said police had been informed of the incident a short time ago.
She said the woman had contacted police on discovering her home had been broken into.
“Crime scene officers are currently investigating the incident which occurred in Brampton Ave, West Ballina,” she said.
“The female called police and it appears her home was broken into from her back door between midnight and 7.30am today.”
According to police, an aggravated burglary is committed when a person trespasses a building with the intention to steal or assault a person.
Chief Inspector Johnson said if anyone had any information on the incident they should contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
