Goonellabah man charged with gun, knife, offences following Ballina Rd arrest
A Goonellabah man, who allegedly had a gun strapped to his ankle and a kitchen knife in his pocket, has been arrested after being spotted by police.

A man allegedly busted with a gun and a knife after running from police has been arrested at Ballina Rd, Goonellabah and charged.
About 2.45pm on Tuesday, police were patrolling Goonellabah when they recognised a 46-year-old man wanted on two outstanding warrants.
When the man saw police he allegedly made a run for it. Police officers chased him on foot through several residential properties before he was stopped and arrested for the outstanding warrants.
A search of the man allegedly revealed a firearm strapped to his ankle and a kitchen knife in his pants pocket.
The man was charged with six offences including possessing an unregistered and unauthorised pistol in a public place, not keeping a pistol firearm safely, custody of a knife in a public place, and hinder or resist police officers in the execution of duty.
The man was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court on January 9.
