A trio who instigated a terrifying break in at a popular Northern Rivers bowls club have had their sentencing date postponed.

Beau Hinze-Yates, Allie Alex and Tori May Perkiss had their matters heard in Lismore District Court on Wednesday.

The trio organised and carried out a March 12 break-in at Brunswick Heads Bowls Club.

Police say a woman was threatened by Hinze-Yates, who was armed with a sawn-off shotgun, after closing the venue about 12.30am.

The 28-year-old then forced the woman to reopen the business before he stole cash and threatened a security guard who arrived during the incident.

The woman was then forced to drive Hinze-Yates in her vehicle to Clothiers Creek Road in Cabarita where he got out of the car and entered another vehicle.

The security guard, who was uninjured, reported the incident to police.

Police say Perkiss, 23, was an employee of the bowls club and had helped orchestrate the entire operation.

The pair were assisted by Alex, 29, who helped plan the robbery.

Hinze-Yates, Alex and Perkiss were charged with aggravated break and enter with a weapon and stalk/intimidate with the intent to cause fear.

Perkiss is also charged with intending to pervert the course of justice.

All three pleaded guilty to their charges on April 16 in Tweed Heads Local Court and were committed for sentence.

Detectives arrested the trio for the break in after the March 12 incident.

They were due to be sentenced in September but Hinze-Yates’ solicitor Sophie Anderson asked for the date to be adjourned.

She said her client, who is in custody, had been affected by the statewide prison lockdown.

Ms Anderson said she had arranged for a psychologist to see her client the day the lockdown was enforced, and as a result had the meeting delayed.

“There was an attempt to make further conference but given current delays because of Covid, the earliest date was 22 September,” she said.

“That is only for a half an hour conference and that is sufficient time for the doctor.”

Crown prosecutor Joshua Hanna said all three were to be sentenced together and asked for Alex and Perkiss to have their sentences adjourned also.

Judge Jeffrey McLennan adjourned the sentence to the last week of 2021 sittings before Judge Warwick Hunt.

“It seems to me the safest thing to do,” he said.

All three will face sentencing on December 13 in Lismore District Court.

Perkiss and Alex will remain on bail while Hinze-Yates will appear via audiovisual link.
