An alleged Northern Rivers thief who has pleaded guilty to destroying or damaging property has been granted bail.
Shane Maher fronted Lismore Local Court via video link on Monday, charged with seven break and enter related offences.
These include breaking and entering a house and stealing something less than or equal to the value of $60,000, destroying or damaging property less than or equal to $2000, entering enclosed land without lawful excuse, two counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, enter dwelling with intent to steal, and larceny.
He had previously pleaded guilty to both the destroy or damaging property less than or equal to $2000 and larceny charges.
The charges relate to three separate matters, with one involving a Ballina residence.
On Monday, Mr Maher’s solicitor Natasha Wood applied for bail for the man, who was in custody.
Ms Wood asked that Mr Maher be allowed to reside at a Nowra residence.
Magistrate Jeff Linden agreed to the bail, imposing that Mr Maher following specified requirements while on bail.
These included participate in the Oolong House Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation Centre Program and obeying all directions of staff during his time there.
His matters will be heard again for mention at Lismore Local Court on July 26.
