Police allege a Wardell man raped a woman seven times over a three-year period and broke into her home to choke her.
Jay Glass, 37, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of rape, four counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, four counts of choking without consent and aggravated break and entering to commit a serious indictable offence.
Glass also pleaded not guilty to two counts of common assault, two counts of stalking/intimidation and destroying/damaging property.
The accused fronted Lismore District Court recently for the domestic-violence related charges, which allegedly spanned from 2020 to 2023.
Earlier charges allegedly took place at Pimlico while the later charges allegedly took place at Wardell near Ballina.
Glass allegedly broke into the complainant’s Wardell home when he knew she would be home and choked her about 4am in November 2022, resulting in actual bodily harm.
The most recent alleged offences took place at Wardell on June 9 last year when Glass allegedly raped the complainant twice, assaulted her causing actual bodily harm, choked her and destroyed/damaged her iPhone.
Glass will go to trial in August next year.
