A Northern Rivers man charged with a domestic-related stabbing will soon face sentencing.
Reece Blain Purcell, 23, was charged with reckless wounding over a September 27, 2020 event.
Emergency services rushed to a Banora Point address about 8pm that night, following reports a woman had suffered stab wounds to her leg, abdomen and head.
Upon arrival, paramedics treated a 22-year-old woman before she was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Following extensive inquiries, police attended a unit on Kennedy Drive at Tweed Heads West on September 23 and arrested the man.
During his Monday mention, Purcell appeared from Clarence Correctional Facility via video link and pleaded guilty to the sole charge.
The court heard a sentencing assessment report and psychiatric report were also being prepared for the sentencing date.
Given that, Judge Jeffrey McLennan scheduled a sentencing before Lismore District Court for September 10.
