A man has been charged with domestic violence offences after he allegedly torched a home in the Northern Rivers. Here’s what we know.

A man has been charged with domestic violence offences after he allegedly torched a home in the Northern Rivers.
Fire and Rescue NSW in Lismore, Hazmat specialists as well as Rural Fire Service bulk watertankers and crews raced to tackle the inferno on Muldoon Rd, Caniaba, on the outskirts of Lismore, about 4.35pm on Thursday.
It took firefighters almost two hours to extinguish the blaze about 6km from the regional city and the home was destroyed.
NSW Police alleges a 47-year-old man lit the fire in the property and state he jumped from the building, suffering injuries in the fall.
A woman and several others living at the home were not injured and left the home before the fire ignited.
Police arrested the man and he was taken to Lismore Base Hospital, where he was put under police guard.
It’s now been revealed police have gone to the hospital on Friday and charged the man with domestic violence offending.
He has been accused of damaging property by fire (DV), stalking/intimidating intending fear/physical harm (DV and breaching an apprehended violence order.
The man was refused bail to face Lismore Local Court on Friday.
He was again refused bail to face the same court on December 16.
