Three women and a man have been rushed to hospital after a serious two-car crash near Ballina.
Emergency services were called to Teven Rd, Tuckombil, north-west of Ballina at about 4pm on Monday after reports of a collision.
NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed a man and woman both aged in their 80s, and two women aged in their 60s at the scene.
The elderly man was treated for multiple serious injuries by paramedics who then tasked the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s critical care medical team to the site.
He was then flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The women were treated at the scene and taken in stable conditions by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital.
