Nurse accused of killing elderly residents to apply for bail

A FORMER nurse who allegedly used a fatal dose of insulin to kill two elderly female residents at Ballina's St Andrews Nursing Home has indicated she will apply for bail later this month.
Megan Jean Haines, 46, appeared before Lismore Local Court from prison via video link for mention yesterday, charged with two counts of murder and one count of assault in relation to the deaths of two women in May.
Her case was adjourned until December 16 at Lismore and a tentative date was arranged for a bail application on December 18 or 19.
