The Northern Rivers is home to many amazing talents, none more so than the region’s sporting talent which emerges from all codes and games under the Aussie sun.
Federal Member for Page, Kevin Hogan, formally recognised the achievements of a range of athletes ranging in age from 11 to 18 at an informal ceremony in Goonellabah on Tuesday.
“It’s always lovely to celebrate our young sporting champions,” Mr Hogan said.
“They are the elite, and we celebrate them and acknowledge the wonderful things they’re doing in their chosen sport.”
Nineteen athletes from a group of 58 ‘Northern Rivers Sporting Champions’ received their certificate in recognition of their success in swimming, athletics, hockey, netball, softball, baseball, football, rugby union, cross-country, gymnastics, and rugby league.
Northern Rivers Young Champions represent their chosen sport at the representative, state, national and international level.
