Paramedics have treated a woman after a two car crash at a coastal village on the Northern Rivers this afternoon.

The incident occurred on Byron Bay Rd, Lennox Head, shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, June 2.

Two road crews from Ambulance NSW were called to attend the crash.

Paramedics checked all the occupants and treated one woman in her 40s for chest injuries and she was transported to Lismore Base Hospital.

Rural Fire Service Inspector Aaron Howard said the Lennox Head fire brigade attend the incident and cleaned up the road once the vehicles had been removed.

Byron Bay Rd, Lennox Head is now cleared for traffic.
