FOLLOWING 12-months of discussions with key community stakeholders, Lismore and Nimbin Tourism will tomorrow unveil two exciting new brands for the region.

Lismore City Council Tourism Co-ordinator, Mitch Lowe, said the new ‘Lismore – Heart of the Northern Rivers’ and ‘Nimbin – More than you can imagine’ brands have been designed locally and reference the already successful ‘Lismore – Come to the Heart’ brand.

“The new logos provide the region with versatile and flexible branding resources that are firstly appealing and unique to each individual destination as separate logos, and then work as a cohesive branding strategy that combines to demonstrate the strong appeal of the broader region,” Mr Lowe said.

“The ‘Lismore – Heart of the Northern Rivers’ brand compliments the existing Lismore City Centre brand and highlights to visitors that Lismore is the commercial, shopping and sporting heart of the Northern Rivers, offering stand-out facilities across all of those service areas.

“The ‘Nimbin – More than you can imagine’ brand aims to highlight the diversity and vibrancy of the village to visitors. Nimbin is such an iconic tourism destination, steeped in history, teeming with activity and a perfect launch pad for people wanting to visit world-class National Parks and scenery.

“Together the brands aim to highlight that this is a destination region offering a wide range of interesting and exciting things to see and do.

“We know that visitors contributed in excess of $85 million to the Lismore economy last year and it is our intention to build these brands into exciting new marketing and promotional campaigns to encourage even further growth in the local industry.”

A range of new merchandise incorporating the Lismore and Nimbin logos has been released, including shirts, hats, drink bottles, shopping bags, pens, stickers and umbrellas now available at both the Lismore Visitor Information Centre (Cnr Ballina Rd and Molesworth St) and the Nimbin Visitor Information Centre (46 Cullen St, Nimbin)

“We would also love to see people in the community get on board and proudly show their support by wearing this merchandise,” Mr Lowe said.

The new brands will be presented to local tourism industry partners at two Lismore and Nimbin Tourism Brand Launch events to be held on Wednesday, August 3 in Lismore at the Lismore City Bowling Club from 11am to 12pm and in Nimbin at the Nimbin Town Hall from 3pm to 4pm.
