New aged care facilities

THE newest aged care facility in the region opened this morning to the relief of elderly locals and families who plan to move to into aged care in the future.

THE newest aged care facility for the region opened this morning to the relief of many elderly locals and their families who plan to move to into aged care in the near future.

Ballina Community Aged Care has officially opened for business as a very modern 4-unit, 122 bed facility with state of the art technology, adding to care available for the elderly in the area.

A plaque was unveiled at the opening by Ballina MP Don Page with one of the new residents, Una Small, at the North Creek Road, Ballina, building.

While the official opening didn't take place until this morning, some rooms are already occupied with over 70 people in residence, while the rest of the beds are set to fill fast.

Ballina Community Aged Care is prepared for the influx, boasting around 90 qualified staff to care for their new residents.
