A man is lucky to be alive, according to NSW Ambulance Inspector Gregory Powell, after a multi-agency rescue was required for a truck rollover near Meerschaum Vale.

NSW Ambulance was called around 11.45am on Friday, November 4 to Wardell Road near Marom Creek Road to assist with a man believed to be aged in his 30s who was trapped inside his rig.

“This was a very complex rescue operation requiring multiple emergency service agencies,” Mr Powell said.

“A man was trapped in a truck after it had rolled twice, landing on the driver’s side.”

State Emergency Service, Police Rescue and NSW Ambulance worked for some time to free the man before paramedics could assess his injuries.

“This incident demonstrates how different agencies can work together seamlessly, to ensure the best outcome for the patient,” Mr Powell said.

The man suffered leg fractures and was taken to Lismore Base Hospital via road ambulance with their specialist medical team onboard.

He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

“This man is extremely lucky to have avoided serious injury,” Mr Powell said.
