Making your development applications easier to track

LISMORE City Council has launched an upgraded DA Tracking portal so people can quickly and easily view development applications in the area.

LISMORE City Council has launched an upgraded DA Tracking portal so people can quickly and easily view development applications in the Lismore Local Government Area.

The upgrade has been partially funded by the NSW Department of Planning in a bid to make DA information more accessible to residents and ensure they have ample opportunity to comment on new development proposals.

Council's Manager Development and Compliance Peter Jeuken said the online tool features improved functionality, including a Google mapping function allowing people to see where new developments are proposed.

He said the new DA Tracking portal was also faster and enables people to search for different types of DAs based on key words and a variety of other information.

"If we're honest, our old DA Tracking portal was well and truly out of date, and quite unwieldy for most members of the public to use," Mr Jeuken said.

"The improved DA Tracking portal is the latest software of this kind available to councils, and ensures we are providing our residents with accessible and modern technology in order to have their say on developments that may affect them or their community.

"Our responsibility is to ensure that people can find the information they need at their fingertips in order to keep track of the progress on an application and make an informed and well-considered submission to Council.

"This type of tool also assists in ensuring transparency in the assessment process."

The new DA Tracking portal is now live at www.lismore.nsw.gov.au.
