ARE you a Nimbin lover and have some fresh ideas for the town?

Lismore City Council is calling for nominations for the Nimbin Advisory Group (NAG).

The NAG is designed to help Council engage with the Nimbin community, identify funding and partnership opportunities, provide input into strategic plans and various other duties as they arise.

Community Services Coordinator Casie Hughes said a few members have left and they are looking for people with fresh ideas and energy to join the group.

"We welcome anyone with an enthusiasm for Nimbin and people who wish to have productive conversations about what we can achieve for the area if we work together," Ms Hughes said.

"Council doesn't always get things right, and the NAG is there to advise us on making the best decisions to meet the needs of the community, as well as provide really sound advice on the best ways to engage with the Nimbin community.

"While we welcome people to all ages and backgrounds, we really could do with a few more men to be honest. Our last one just left, so it would be nice to see some more male representation."

The number of places on the NAG is limited and all nominations will go before Council for consideration.

Interested people can apply at www.lismore.nsw.gov.au.

Nominations close at 4.30pm on Monday, April 10.

For more information, phone Community Services Coordinator Casie Hughes on 1300 87 83 87.
