Lismore motorcycle dealership hit by alleged break in

Police charged two teens for their alleged involvement in a break in which saw two motorcycles and a quantity of cash stolen.

Two people have been charged with a brazen break-in at a Lismore business.

The Lismore motorcycle dealership was broken into with cash and two motorcycles stolen on March 16, Richmond Police District alleged in a Facebook statement on Friday.

Police were called to the scene before heading out to conduct patrols of the surrounding area.

During their patrol, officers attended a nearby service station which led them to CCTV ishowing three possible persons of interest having attended the site earlier to buy petrol.

A short time later, in Conway St, police saw three young people matching the description of those from the service station who allegedly fled on foot when they saw patrolling police.

Officers who attended that location found the two stolen motorcycles and the jerry can used at the service station.

Both the motorcycles and jerry can were seized for forensic analysis.

A 14-year-old South Lismore boy and a 14-year-old Goonellabah girl were later arrested.

The South Lismore teen was charged with aggravated break and enter in company stealing less than $60,000 and taking and driving a conveyance without consent of its owner.

He was granted conditional bail and is set to appear before Lismore Children’s Court on May 6.

Other alleged co-offenders are yet to be charged.
