Since development of the Imagine Lismore strategic plan, many locals have played their part in putting together community plans incorporating projects and activities they'd like to see in their regional village.

Catherine Rosenbaum, partnering and community engagement officer at Lismore Council, said to date community plans include more events in local halls, working bees in parks and even designing a playground.

She encourages people to, "come up with things they might like to achieve in their community".

In those areas where the plans have already been developed people can still get involved in working on projects.

These projects will be implemented by the community in partnership with the council, community groups, business and other agencies.

The Local Government Area was divided into seven geographical localities and there are two sites, still to be planned.

For details see the Community Planning Locality Map on the council's website.

Become part of a community panel and your thoughts, ideas and aspirations will be taken into account. In planning existing assets like buildings, associations and individuals are identified and feasibility of projects including benefits to the community analysed.

Projects are then be categorised and documented into a community plan.
