A man allegedly led police on a wild cat and mouse chase through bushland while on bail and behind the wheel of a Lexus in northern NSW. He has been named and is due to face court.

A man allegedly led police on a wild cat and mouse chase through bushland while on bail and behind the wheel of a luxury Lexus in the state’s north overnight.
Lachlan Brennan, 26, is set to face Lismore Local Court on Monday following the alleged police chase on the Bruxner Highway at South Lismore about midnight.
Richmond Police District officers tried to stop the Lexus after it was allegedly seen speeding.
NSW Police state: “The Lexus failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated, travelling through Lismore to The Channon before turning onto Cox Road at Koonorigan, where the Lexus entered a rural property and was pursued through scrubland.”
“About 12.35am, the Lexus came to a stop above a gully and two occupants were seen fleeing from the vehicle.”
Police chased down and arrested Brennan and a 20-year-old woman.
The pair were taken to Lismore Police Station, but the woman was relased soon after.
Brennan was charged with one count each of police pursuit (not stopping, driving recklessly), disqualified driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, using a vehicle with an unauthorised number plate and breaching bail.
